"How does a text move? What are its dynamics? What is its space, its structure, its internal tension? What type of performances does it call for? How can we delve into a text without getting bogged down by psycology ? We will start from the idea that each play proposes a particular space, a specific relationship between characters and their emotions and makes its way towards a final form through movement. This workshop includes physical preparation, textual and structural exploration through improvisation, the investigation of stylistic territories and dynamic scene work. We will focus on playwrights from the 19th and 20th century (Anton Chekov, Harold Pinter, Michel Azama, Caryl Churchill, Marguerite Duras…), who offer complex worlds and varied stylistic and dramatic works."
